A field level financial literacy event was jointly organized by Reserved Bank of India (RBI), Aizawl Office and Govt. Saitual College at Auditorium, Govt. Saitual College on 12th March, 2024 @ 11:30 AM. The event itself is focused on topics like financial literacy, financial inclusion, role of RBI and issues connected with.
Mr. Samuel Lalremkima, Assistant, RBI hosted the programme. Mr. Siddharaj, Manager, RBI Aizawl gave a speech on importance of financial awareness for the youths like college level students. He also made a challenge to the students and also informed the students to alert from frauds, online hackers, etc.’
Special Guest, Pi Hmachhuani, District Development Manager, NABARD whose cover area includes the districts of Saitual, Champhai and Khawzawl also address the students. She mentioned that there is something expected to know from the College level students regarding financial literacy. She also highlights that the selection of farmers to get financial help for growing the Seedless Quava in Saitual district is still going on. She challenges the students to do hard labor to get at least the minimum required marks for entry into Banking Service (i.e. 55%). It is important to have a concrete plan before approaching the bank. Anyone can search and get information through internet or google. It is safe and better to approach the nearest bank to get more information if and after the online registration for any type of loan was done.
Mr. Robert Zosangliana, the Lead District Manager, State Bank has also graced this event with special address to the students on “How do I invest my money?”, “How do I kept my money safe?”. Lectures were also given on how to join and work in Reserve Bank of India and on the various job prospects available on RBI.
After the interaction session was over Mrs. Lalmalsawmi, Associate Professor, Govt. Saitual College gives a vote of thanks.
